SPX COTTON / SPX CODE combines an exceptional level of lightness with remarkable durability. At the heart of this material is a delicate yet precise processing technique that can only be achieved in Japan.

For over 50 years, a unique yarn processing method called the PIN false-twist stretch processing has been developed and perfected in a small factory in the Hokuriku region of Japan. This method, known as PIN false-twist, involves twisting synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon before applying heat to set the twist, creating an inherent loftiness in the yarn. Combining this "PIN false-twist" technique with the advanced craftsmanship of a small factory in Hokuriku, the textile trading company Chori Co., Ltd. developed the brand “SPX”.
Unlike the more common false twist method, which uses a rotating belt for mass production, the PIN false-twist method twists the yarn slowly around a pin-like rotor, requiring a high level of manual skill and precision. This labor-intensive process results in superior loft and lightness, earning global recognition for its unique texture.
The SPX series includes SPX COTTON, made with recycled materials (Nm52.000), and SPX CODE 18 (Nm.18.000). Thanks to thePIN false-twist stretch processing, these fabrics exhibit remarkable volume, making them resistant to wrinkles. Simply smoothing the fabric with your hands restores it to its original state, unlike conventional cotton-polyester blends.
We have focused on the wrinkle recovery properties of these materials and are introducing packable wear that can be easily carried and worn even after being folded for extended periods.

Cotton blends are typically prone to wrinkling, but with the SPX series, you can enjoy a smooth, fresh look no matter how long the fabric has been packed. With the increased demand for cotton blends due to milder winters, the SPX series is a versatile material perfect for year-round use—from daily wear to travel.
