KNIT MAGAZINE
As the title suggests, this time we want to explore the possibilities of transparent yarn.
Our collection includes a transparent yarn called MIERU, which can be used in a variety of creative ways. Let us introduce a few ideas.
Table of Contents
As you might expect, this yarn is transparent.
You can use a single strand, but using two or three strands will give different visual effects. Depending on your design, you can choose the number of strands you want—or even combine one-strand and two-strand in the same color to create a subtle striped or border effect.
Example: The photo below shows a 14G, 2-strand product.
The white sections, if knitted with a single strand, appear even more transparent—more “clear” than white. Two strands create a solid fabric while maintaining transparency, giving a more structured yet slightly artificial look.
Sometimes, a knit can feel too soft or floppy. You may want a bit more body.
MIERU can help!
By simply plating it with the yarn you are using, you can add structure and firmness.
Tip: Knit jackets or knit pants often look casual, but by adding transparent yarn, you can create a more substantial, polished knit without changing the overall feel.
In the photo below, it may look like pink and purple stripes at first glance—but transparent yarn is actually knitted in between the pink and purple sections.
The sequence is: pink → transparent yarn → purple → transparent yarn.
By inserting transparent yarn in this way, you can add a sense of lightness without interfering with the main colors or fabric texture.
We hope this gives you some inspiration on the versatility of MIERU.
It might be a yarn with some unexpected uses for your creations!
